Westpac Air Rescue Show day

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I want to thank each of you for all your effort leading up to the weekend just passed. It was so disappointing to have to call the event off after all the effort you put in to rostering and securing resources for the day.

We have looked at the feasibility of re-scheduling to Sunday 6^th May – thank you to all of you who came back to me so quickly in support of the proposed date. Regrettably, because we have been unable to secure some of the key emergency services teams in their entirety - not to mention there being some doubt around the weather for Sunday - we have concluded that we will not proceed with Open Day this weekend.

But all is not lost. We will now review the calendar for the remainder of the year, and look to host the event somewhere between October and December when the weather is hopefully more settled, considerably warmer…. and less wet! We will also be reviewing protocols for wet-weather contingencies, so that we have a streamlined plan for postponement/cancellation announcements in future (huge apologies to those of you who arrived onsite early, prior to the cancellation call being made).

I hope that we will be able to call on you again later in the year to be part of the day, and look forward to the opportunity of working alongside you all to put on a great show for our community.

Hi Team,

Big day ahead for this show.

We have Westpac trust paying for 2x 3m towers 20m apart for us to rigg a big show from.

We are also now working in with the FENZ lines rescue crew to rigg this and provide the kids with some good rides along the system.

ACR and FENZ using all our toys, same gear and everything.

Anyway, going to be a great day of fun, rigging and smiles.
