Tuesday night ACR training session.

Location:

Roxx Climbing centre, Clip N Climb area

Time: 6.30pm for 2 hours

IDEAS from Michael Smith and Pick-offs

I thought it would be interesting to go through some different ways we'd to a pick-off of a stuck person scrambling amongst bluffs.

- Abseil from above (lower in real life?) with belay line (tandem prusik?)
- Secure patient in nappy or other improvised harness
- Connect patient to descender
- Abseil to ground

Discussion points:
- What descenders are rated for rescue load. Team vs personal.
- Extra friction required on break hand. Prusik?
- How best to attach. Hard linked or on a Y lanyard

We can also do some SRT pick-offs, although I imagine they are less likely to be used, and having someone not in a harness would be more realistic.

See you all there, bring your harness, helemt and Rescue gear ready for whats available for on rope and rescue senarios of the night.

Please register and let me know you can make it.
