This is the most advanced of our First Aid courses.

Provide basic pre-hospital emergency care

Purpose: People credited with this unit standard are able to:
– assess and manage the scene of an emergency situation;
– assess patients in an emergency situation;
– demonstrate and apply knowledge of devices and/or techniques to manage patients in an emergency situation; and
– monitor patients and provide information in an emergency situation.

Demonstrate knowledge of and use an Automated External Defibrillator
Purpose: People credited with this unit standard are able to:
– demonstrate knowledge of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use
– use an AED.

Move a patient in preparation for transportation
Purpose: People credited with this unit standard are able to move a patient in preparation for transportation.
