Jun 24 2015 - 20:34
HI Team,

Re avo weekend, just got this back from Claire at BR re lodge andski area.
From Claire:
you'll be staying in Lyndon Lodge which is at the top of the tram. The staff may not be on the mountain Fri morning as the Club is having a welcome for them in CHCH on Thurs night. The best thing would be to skin or walk up with your lunch and day pack and settle yourselves in Lyndon Lodge. There may be someone there so it would be worth talking over the intercom at the bottom of the tram to check. The gear can be brought up later if noone is there in the morning. The key that you have will get you into Lyndon Lodge.

Wine and beer are available for sale at the ticket office (immediately below Lyndon Lodge)  but you can also bring your own.

We have a supply of nut crackers which you can use. Glove protectors can be hired ($15 I think) or bought at the ticket office (top of the tram).

Heating is all electric. Alas no fires these days because of the fire hazards! Lyndon Lodge has a wide screen TV and a DVD player in the lounge.

BYO sleeping bag, pillow case, towel. There is a good drying room for drying out your gear.

Have just been talking to Sam, the manager, conditions are very firm and grippy with good coverage over the whole mountain. Metvuw suggests there might be some fronts coming through Fri to Sunday so you might even be in for some new snow!

If you have any other questions please do ask.

Michael sounds good. Meet you in Springfield/Sheffield lee?
Greg got you and Hamish. That's 5 in mine. Cheers
